About McQ

Sean McHugh (McQ) began his DJ career in 2021 during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic, when he bought his first set of DJ decks from Guitar Center. What started as a way to stay busy during lockdown quickly evolved into much more than a hobby, it became a lifestyle. DJing offered him the perfect way to combine his passions for music, entertainment, and entrepreneurship.

In August 2022, he established his own DJ service, McQPlays, and began working with the renowned DJ Chris Styles shortly after in May 2023. It wasn’t long before people began to recognize his talent, leading to performances at multiple venues across the D.C. metro area. On any given weekend, he can be heard rocking clubs, parties, and private events. His experience also includes spinning at sporting events for Towson University and the University of Maryland, as well as DJing internationally at club 24K in Canún.

With his ambition, seamless transitions, and genre-blending style, McHugh continues to make his mark as one of the DMV’s most promising up-and-coming DJs.
